Covington Neighbors – Photo and Content Release Agreement

This Photo and Content Release Agreement (“Agreement”) outlines the terms under which contributors (“Contributor”) grant permission to Covington Neighbors to publish and use submitted materials (photos, text, videos, or other creative content).

1. Grant of Rights

By submitting content to Covington Neighbors, the Contributor grants the Publisher a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:

  • Use, publish, reproduce, modify, adapt, and distribute the submitted content (the “Work”) in print, online, and digital formats;

  • Display the Work on the Covington Neighbors website, newsletters, social media accounts, and promotional materials;

  • Edit or adapt the Work for clarity, formatting, or length, while maintaining the original intent.

This license is non-exclusive, meaning the Contributor retains ownership and may use or publish their Work elsewhere.

2. Ownership and Attribution

  • The Contributor confirms that they are the original creator or authorized copyright holder of the submitted Work.

  • The Contributor retains all copyright to their Work.

  • Covington Neighbors agrees to credit the Contributor whenever reasonably possible (e.g., photo credit or byline).

3. Consent for Photos and Likeness

If the submitted Work includes identifiable people, the Contributor confirms that they have obtained all necessary permissions from those individuals to allow Covington Neighbors to use the image(s) publicly.

The Contributor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Covington Neighbors from any claims arising from unauthorized use of a person’s likeness or image.

4. No Compensation

Contributors provide their Work voluntarily and without expectation of payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing before submission.

In cases where compensation is offered (such as for sponsored or commissioned content), a separate written agreement will be made.

5. Editorial Discretion

Covington Neighbors reserves the right to:

  • Accept, reject, or remove any submitted content at its discretion;

  • Edit materials for grammar, clarity, or formatting while preserving the Contributor’s message;

  • Determine when, where, and how the content is published.

6. Representations and Warranties

The Contributor represents that:

  • The Work is original and does not infringe on any copyright, trademark, or privacy rights;

  • The Work contains no defamatory, obscene, or unlawful material;

  • Any statements of fact within the Work are, to the best of the Contributor’s knowledge, accurate.

7. Indemnification

The Contributor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Covington Neighbors, its owners, editors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from publication or use of the submitted Work.

8. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts located in Kenton County, Kentucky.

9. Entire Agreement

This document represents the entire understanding between the Contributor and Covington Neighbors regarding the submitted Work and supersedes any prior communications or agreements.

10. Acceptance

By submitting content (including but not limited to stories, photographs, or videos) to Covington Neighbors—whether via email, form submission, or social media message—the Contributor acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Photo and Content Release Agreement.
